Cadet in Concert

On the 4th July 2017, 54 Squadron staff were lucky enough to listen to the Eastbourne Concert Orchestra play through a collection of Nautical themed music.

The programme comprised of the following songs:

James Horner – Titanic movie medley
Gilbert and Sullivan – The Pirates of Penzance: Overture
Aram Khachaturian – Adagio from Spartacus
Rodgers & Hammerstein – South Pacific: Selection

Klaus Badelt – Pirates of the Caribbean: Selection
John Philip Sousa – El Capitan
Gilbert and Sullivan – HMS Pinafore: ‘Sorry her lot who loves too well’
Wood Henry – Fantasia on British Sea Songs  

We were invited to the night by Ionna Dumitrescu a member of the Civilian Committee and mum to Cdt Andrew Dumitrescu. The staff were proud to hear Cdt Dumitrescu play Violin as part of the orchestra and to see his musical talents. We hope to see him in action at Wing Field Weekend with the rest of our squadron musicians!
