Shooting

Each cadet has the chance to try out some target shooting within the ATC.  But be assured, the training for this is intense, all cadets are required to pass an MOD weapons handling test before they are even allowed to load that first round of ammunition. The same weapons handling test that is given to the RAF Regiment, and the Army.

Shooting is an art, a skill which combines the hand, the eyes, the breathing, the steadiness … it doesn’t come easy being a ‘Bullseye hitter’. The ATC can offer training in the art of marksmanship, with badges being awarded to those who are good enough, and a Squadron trophy is given to the best marksman, every year.
